Randal Leek       Wood Sculpture

A native to the Pacific Northwest, Randal has travelled throughout the world creating natural abstract forms from exotic hardwoods.  His pieces range in height from 6” (15cm) to several feet, with polished, finished surfaces in contrast to the natural textures of beautiful weathered material.

This material came from Thailand, showing the unusual grain coloration of fire-baked wood.  The curves and highlights are intended to capture the beauty of the dark ridges and brilliant light teak open surfaces.

Wood Art - Myrtle Wood/Hickory base by Randal Leek

#N42
12 x 5 ½ x 3 in.
Myrtle Wood/Hickory base.

Oregon coast has this unique Myrtle Wood with fantastic grain structure that plays with the light when its polished. Because the grain is so woven together, it is resilient and durable, but light with a relatively soft surface, and yet takes a beautiful polished surface.

Sorry, this one is Sold!

#I27 - Wood Art by Randal Leek

#I27
10 ½ x 14 x 4 in. Hickory/Sycamore base.

The warm, natural tone of hickory and the gentle curves of this piece make it one of my favorites in our home.  As with all of my pieces, this was intended to be picked up and touched, or walked around to view from various angle. It is just pleasant to have close by.
