The Online Place Yakima Valley Artists Meet

Connected to Art    with Mike Hiler

My influence for art is directly connected to my love of the outdoors, whether it's camping in our 1985 VW Vanagon Westphalia with wife, Kristin or hiking the Cascade foothills with Jo Miles.  Sometimes, I'm even inspired while spending time closer to home with my friends... such as processing milk weed seed to enhance Monarch Butterfly populations in Cowiche Canyon.
    (Cowiche Canyon Winter 2014/2015 Newsletter)

My travels in search of historic signs and big trees (National Register of Big Trees), also led me to write a book to honor the old timers who mined, trapped, and settled the upper Cascade basins.  Published by Cave Moon Press Buckskin, Larch and Bedrock and  Listos is available for purchase from Amazon.com.
